This American-made, Martin Special D Classic mahogany dreadnought acoustic guitar is the real deal and a real steal. This Martin acoustic instrument is crafted with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. Like many of Martin’s famous dreadnought guitars, the Special D classic mahogany dreadnought has all the punch and volume that players have come to expect from the world-famous Martin Guitar Co. The combination of Sitka spruce and mahogany back and sides generates a tone with expressive highs and mid-range frequencies; plus, a loud, punchy bottom end. Along with a great tone, this guitar has amazing sustain and dynamic response.

Made in Nazareth, PA, the Martin Special D is equipped with a simple dovetail neck joint. This glued, neck-to-body joint allows the neck and body of the guitar to resonate as one instrument. Like many of the world’s finest string instruments, the dovetail does not have any bolts that limit sustain and change the color of the acoustic sound. The tight fit increases the transference of tone and sustain across the entire instrument. Play as soft, or as hard as you want, and this instrument has got you covered.
