The faucet insert has hard, durable ceramic discs that can handle the high friction that occurs when you change the temperature of the water.

The high spout makes it easier to wash dishes, including large pots.

Chrome-plated brass is a hard and durable surface that is easy to clean.

An aerator integrated in the faucet keeps the water flow just right while less water and energy is used.

Care
Do not use scouring-powder, steel wool, hard or sharp tools which can scratch the surface.
Wipe dry with a clean cloth.
To remove larger limescale deposits – use diluted, ordinary white vinegar and rinse with water.
Clean with a soft damp cloth only using water and a mild washing-up detergent or soap. Never use scouring powder, steel wool, a descaling agent or a detergent that is acidic or contains alcohol or an abrasive.

Sprang a leakJamesI hate to "rain" on the parade, but unfortunately, it sprang a sizable leak inside the faucet on the cold-water side after a few months of use. Also, less important, the supply lines were not long enough to reach our valves. That is not a showstopper because you can get short supply lines and compression nuts at the hardware store to make the connection. Otherwise, we liked everything about the faucet and we might still get another one and hope for the best1

What is brass?

Brass is a mixture of copper and zinc and the amounts vary depending on the desired properties. Copper is usually the main material and the more zinc you add results in the brass being harder and stronger, but also results in it being more difficult to shape and less resistant to rust. Brass can be recycled as brass but never into its original metals. At IKEA we use brass for things like knobs, handles, frames and taps.
